Hello, I’m Joshua. This is my website, which is essentially a place for me to share my writing, photography, creations, opinions, ideas and, occasionally, drunken ramblings.
I was born July 9, 1981. I went to middle, junior and high school in York, Me. I graduated in 1999, went to Franklin Pierce in Rindge, NH for a year. I went under the guise of majoring in Writing, but with all the required classes that had nothing to do with writing, along with the reality that most writing teachers are hacks who dedicate their entire class to writing poetry (and erroneously referring to it as a “creative writing” course), simply because poetry is like abstract art: hard to argue with even when it’s bad, I became uninterested and disillusioned with the concept of getting a degree. I then moved to Keene, NH and took a summer course in film under their Continuing Education program, but I want to be a writer and director, not a cinematographer, and the technical aspect of film making was over my head and beyond my interests. I came into some money when I turned 18, and just around this point it began to run out. So I got a job. My neighbor worked for FedEx, and I ended up working there as a “Quality Assurance Clerk”. I actually made a bit of an impression there and had doors open towards management, but I decided to take an opportunity to help open a facility in Florida which I felt would give me some additional time and experience so that when I did finally jump into management, it would make me better at what I do. Unfortunately, I moved there with someone who kind of screwed me over and ruined the experience for me. I jumped from there to rooming with some family in North Carolina for a year or so, and then wandered back up to York Maine to focus on my writing. That was 3 years ago. I haven’t written anything worthy of sharing since. I’m now nearing 30 years old and feel like I pretty much wasted the last decade. So, I’m trying to get myself back on track and cross my fingers for a better tomorrow. It’s much harder these days to make a living writing, so I’ll be focusing a decent amount of attention on other ideas and projects which will hopefully supplement my ability to drop my hourly employment and focus on writing and creating. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this.
